Keith works with teens and adults who are navigating big life changes, grief and loss, adoption related challenges, attachment and relational issues, anxiety, OCD, and LGBTQIA+ topics. His practice is all inclusive, sex positive and he is poly/kink knowledgeable.

I have a passion for working with teens and adults on a variety of topics using an integrative approach that specifically fits your needs and current challenges. I recognize that you are the expert on yourself and partner with you to create strategies that resonate with who you are and what makes sense for you. I believe that creating an environment that is respectful of your autonomy and reinforces your agency in every step of the therapeutic process is critical to facilitating change.

Additionally, a developing area of specialization for me is working with teens and adults that are interested in exploring the impact that adoption has had on the way they move through and interact with the world. While every adopted individual’s story is different, creating a safe space from which we can examine the past, better understand the present, and plan for the future has proven to be essential in my work with adopted individuals. Approaching this topic can often feel overwhelming, but working together to make sense of it all is by far my favorite part of the work we do together.

What is therapy like with me?
I work to provide a very calm, grounded, and easy to talk to presence in my sessions. I am rarely shocked by anything, and I love to use humor and metaphors in our conversations whenever possible. I am a straightforward, authentic therapist that shows up in session as a real human being with the goal of creating a space that you feel safe in. I want you to be 100% you in our time together and I recognize that it takes time and trust for that to happen. I make these commitments to you from the very beginning: you will never be judged, and you will always be met with warmth, compassion, and acceptance.

What is my approach to therapy?
There are so many letters for all the great types of therapy out there! I am truly an integrative therapist and will grab parts of whatever kinds of therapy apply to your situation in that moment on that day. If it's helpful great, we will continue using it. If it's not, then we will try something else. I regularly use I-CBT, ERP, Mindfulness, Person Centered, and ACT therapy in my work with clients but bottom line, we will figure out what makes sense to you and for you in a way that feels honest and authentic.

Who am I as a person outside of therapy?
I consider myself a complete and total geek. I grew up reading comics, playing video games, and wanting to boldly go where no one has gone before while being fascinated by a galaxy far, far away. I love talking about cartoons, movies, TV, and collectibles. Figuring out how those things represent core aspects of who we are feeds my inherent curiosity about others and their experiences. I am married and live with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a fish tank full of coral that all keep me pretty busy.

Background and Experience
My path to joining the world of counseling has been different from many. Before becoming a counselor, I worked in sales, marketing, and corporate training for almost 20 years. I intimately understand the grind of the corporate world and while I was successful in this career, I wanted to work directly with people in a different and more personally impactful way. I graduated from St. Edwards University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling which allowed me to continue building experience working with teens, adults, families, and couples in a variety of settings.
