Finding the right fit is of utmost importance. Supervision is a relationship that lasts at least 18 months, though usually closer to 2 years. This time is set aside to develop your clinical knowledge, skills, and personal confidence through sustained support from your chosen Supervisor. To help start our conversation, here’s a snapshot of what supervision is like with Kimberley and what she brings to the work. She’d love to hear more about you, your goals, and your vision. SUPERVISION DETAILS

  • 4+ hours of supervision a month.
    Supervision will be held in both individual and group settings and will be charged at a monthly rate of $350.
    Individual Supervision is 1 hour of one-on-one attention - just you and Kimberley.
    Group Supervision is 2 hours of discussion and case consultation with Kimberley and your peers. There are currently two groups that meet on Thursdays 10am-12pm and on Wednesdays 10am-12pm.

  • Abundance of Support
    Access between sessions and “SOS” emergency consultations when needed.

  • Supervision Discussions
    Include, but not be limited to: Case Consultation, Boundaries, Addressing Counter-Transference, Encouragement, Developing Therapeutic Skills, Self-Care, Session Notes, Ethics and Understanding Board Rules.

  • Active support around self care and preventing burnout.
    Burnout, overworking, and secondary trauma is a real issue within our community, however, it is often spoken about but not actively demonstrated on how to prevent it. Kimberley has created a schedule that allows for self-care, catching up on admin tasks, trainings, and time off. Starting this practice early can help prevent burnout.

  • Rich discussions on how to create an ethical, sustainable, and thriving private practice.
    Many of us dream about opening a Private Practice, however, school often doesn’t often teach the business acumen needed to do so. Kimberley offers support and the guidance, skills, and resources needed to build an ethical, sustainable, and thriving private practice.

  • Resources
    Create a sound understanding of HIPAA, writing ethical and efficient session notes, treatment planning, working with suicidality, trauma-informed care, along with other foundational topics.

ABOUT KIMBERLEY AND HER PRACTICE AS A LPC SUPERVISOR

Providing supervision to provisionally licensed therapists to fulfill Texas State Board requirements for full LPC licensure. Ideal candidates are attachment and trauma-focused, work with adults and couples, creative thinkers, motivated self-starters, and those interested in learning how to build a private practice.

Kimberley has worked with grief and trauma for over a 12 years and has been a supervisor for 9. Her areas of focus include grief and loss, adoption, developmental trauma and Complex PTSD, shame, non-traditional relationships, and relationships in crisis. She is an adoptee and specializes in working with adults of adoption and the lifelong search for identity. She is a sex-positive, LGBTQI ally, all-inclusive therapist and honors both traditional and non-traditional relationships.

TRAINING: Kimberley has trained in NARM, Attachment Theory, IPNB (Interpersonal Neurobiology), Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and Level I&II of Gottman. She is draws from IFS, applied improv (yup). She has a Master's in counseling from St. Edwards University, is a certified NARM Therapist, and gained her supervisor training with Wingspan in 2016.

BACKGROUND: Her therapeutic career started as a grief therapist for Austin’s Center for Grief and Loss and led groups at Paladin, a dual diagnosis outpatient treatment center. She has a thriving private practice in south Austin and founded Resilience Austin in 2019.

Though now she couldn't imagine being anything else, Kimberley hasn't always been a therapist. She started with Bachelors in photography and design. In the corporate world, she’s worked as a graphic and UI designer, freelance consultant, and a creative director for a small business consultation agency. Personally, she’s part of the Austin acting community, a talented photographer, a dog momma, and created a slightly quirky, slightly tender, card game to help adults talk about death.

Kimberley values the variety of experiences and backgrounds that people bring with them and strives to provide a supportive environment that encourages both inquiry and mastery. She’s always pushing her growth edges and deepening her skills by attending trainings and seeking out diverse voices and experiences. She will challenge you to do the same.

Kimberley views her role as

  • a consultant offering educate and help navigate the business aspects needed to manifest your vision towards a full licensed therapist. Having built her business from the ground up and having worked in the corporate world, she offers practical guidance as to the ins and outs of the skills and fortitude needed to be a successful and ethical business owner.
