GRIEF WALKER SERIES
CONVERSATIONS WITH GRIEF
Monthly Discussion, Reading, & Consultation Group for Therapists
Inevitably, death will take a seat in our practice. For some of us, we will feel called to become Griefwalkers.
This monthly group is a space for therapists to engage deeply with grief through reading, discussion, and reflective practice. Alongside learning frameworks, we’ll attend to our own responses—countertransference, emotional weight, and challenges of sitting with grief. The group provides space to practice presence, to notice how grief shows up in the body and in relationships, and to develop deeper capacity to companion clients through loss.
We’ll draw from memoirs, clinical writing, and a range of theories and approaches to loss, using these materials as a springboard for conversation and exploration. The first books I’ve chosen to start our exploration with getting to know death are: Absolutely Delicious: A Chronicle of Extraordinary Dying, Were You Close? (sibling loss), The Year of Magical Thinking, It’s OK That You’re Not OK, and Motherless Daughters.
ABOUT KIMBERLEY
Therapist | Supervisor | Educator
Kimberley is a graduate of St. Edward's University and a grief and trauma therapist in south Austin. She was a therapist for 4 years at Austin's Center for Grief and Loss as well as a support group facilitator working with both adults and children who had suffered a death. While there, she and a colleague who worked at hospice discussed the difficulties and heaviness of grief work with adults. From this seed, she created Morbid Curiosity: A Game About Death.
Kimberley has attended Order of the Good Death national events, local Death Cafés, suicide prevention conferences and workshops, grief group facilitation training, and a variety of unique and sometimes quirky death-focused events. She offers workshops, lectures, and consultation about death, working with grief, and sitting with our mortality.
